Also, Microsoft versions have a lifecycle, and Microsoft stops supporting older versions of the software, which means they will no longer receive requests for new features, will not have security updates, and over time will remain without any improvements. For example, Microsoft no longer supports Dynamics NAV 2009 and older versions. The main difference between older versions of NAV and Business Central is that developments are done on extensions, and the ERP core code is no longer affected. Implementing developments on extensions allows you to upgrade faster, at lower costs, and with minimal risk.
